I n my class of creative thinking today, I advise my students to be childlike in order to be creative. Be like a child but not be childish. I used to tell them stories to ignite their interests or they might turn bored listen to me babbling. Today I share with them this interesting piece of story. It was about a heavy truck which became lodged under an overpass. For several hours, the police had been endeavouring to get it unstuck. The crowd gathered offered all sorts of suggestions. "Saw of the top of the truck," one old man bellowed, half-joking. "Dismantle the bridge", said another. These suggestions did not contain a feasible solution. Finally, a little boy stepped forward with this idea, " Why dont you let some air out of the tyres?" Do not get stuck at the top end of the truck but let free our mind to look at the opposite end, where in fact the solution lay waiting.
